Abstract

One of seven articles forming a practical guide to HVAC for museums and historic renovation. Gives the basic principles for analysing airflow in any space. Considers vertical jet temperature effects and horizontal jets. Supplies diagrams showing throw and drop for different outlet and ceiling arrangements. Goes on to deal with air distribution from circular and cross-flow ceiling diffusers. Explains the procedure for stratifying a high space. Considers return air locations and concludes by considering air distribution noise recommendations and how to meet them.
