Spara och bevara* bibliographic database

About

*Spara och bevara is swedish for "Save and preserve" as in save energy and preserve historic buildings.

Balancing the needs of heritage preservation and energy conservation is a challenge for decision-makers in the
cultural heritage field. Making sustainable solutions requires an interdisciplinary approach and the use of
research results from different fields such as energy engineering, building physics and conservation science.

Spara och bevara contains bibliographic records on articles and books dealing with energy efficiency in historic
buildings. You will also find full-text documents and links to electronic resources.

The Spara och bevara database includes books, book sections, conference proceedings, articles and so forth on:

• preservation aspects on energy efficiency
• energy performance of historic building constructions
• measuring of the indoor climate in historic buildings
• simulations and calculations of indoor climate in historic buildings
• climate control strategies for preventive conservation
• indoor climate and deterioration

A selection of relevant documents about general building physics, installation techniques, indoor climate and
bio deterioration is also included.

If you would like to contribute, please send us an e-mail. We appreciate suggestions for improvements as well.

Spara och bevara is hosted by Uppsala university Campus Gotland. It was started in 2007 along with a
research programme with the same name, funded by the Swedish Energy Agency. A website in swedish about
the programme can be found here.
