Abstract

A new archives building in England is specifically designed to utilize the thermal mass of the structure and the RH buffering capacity of the storage stack as part of passive environmental conttrol for most of the buolding. The temperature and humidity the archives vary seasonally, but daily fluctuations are kept to a minimum. A small air-conditioning plant serves the reading room.
