Abstract
A 200 years old South Swedish farming house reaches the 21st century standards of energy consumption. This thesis aims at elevating the housing standard and optimizing consumption of a traditional south Swedish farming house with the original design. The alternations of the house are mainly isolation of slab, walls and attic. In order to investigate the input of the modifications, the whole concept has been recalculated in an energy optimizing software. The results show that the energy consumption has been decreased to a level that is approved according to BBR. Calculations in order to minimize heat transfer have also been done.
