Abstract

One of Changeworks` main aims is to provide people with the information they need to make choices that lessen their impact on the environment, enabling to lead safer, healthier and more fulfilled lives. This document encourages and faciliates a reduction in fossil fuel use in traditional and historic homes through the integration of renewable energy systems, and came about as a result of Changeworks` Renewable Heritage project. Renewable Heritage introduced clean energy technologies in traditionally-built, listed properties in Edinburgh`s Old Town, a Conservation Area and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. This work built on the success of Changeworks` earlier energy efficiency project, Energy Heritage, which has subsequently been nationally and internationally recognised as an example of best practice.
